Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Shal handles personal information when you use our website, apps, and scheduling services.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information we process when you visit shal.app, create an account, configure booking pages, or interact with Shal as a host or guest. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, profile details, timezone, and authentication information.
  • Scheduling data: event types, availability, bookings, guest responses, and calendar events you choose to sync.
  • Usage data: log data, device and browser type, IP address, and product analytics needed to operate and improve the service.
  • Payment data: billing contact and transaction metadata processed by our payment partners (we do not store full payment card numbers).

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the scheduling service;
  • Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service-related messages;
  • Process payments and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • Understand usage and improve features; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How we share information

We may share information with:

  • Other participants: hosts and guests receive details needed to complete a booking.
  • Service providers: vendors that help us host infrastructure, send email or SMS, process payments, or provide analytics, under contractual safeguards.
  • Integrations you enable: calendar, video, CRM, or automation tools you connect.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal information.

Google user data

This section describes how Shal uses data from Google when you sign in with Google or connect a Google Calendar. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements described in that policy. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to providing the scheduling features you request.

  • Google sign-in: If you choose Google sign-in, we receive profile information such as your name and email address to authenticate you and maintain your Shal account.
  • Google Calendar (with your authorization): If you connect Google Calendar, we access your calendar list and calendar events as needed to check availability and conflicts, keep your linked calendars in sync, and create, update, or cancel calendar events for bookings. Event details may include booking times, titles, descriptions, locations, and participant information needed to schedule meetings.
  • Connection credentials: OAuth tokens are stored to maintain the calendar connection until you disconnect or revoke access.
  • Sharing: Google data is shared only as needed to operate the service—for example with other booking participants (such as meeting details) and with integrations or service providers you enable to deliver scheduling, notifications, video conferencing, or related features.

Your choices. You can disconnect Google Calendar in Shal to stop future calendar sync and related API access from Shal. You can also review or revoke access granted to Shal in your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/connections. To request deletion of personal information, contact support@shal.app. Some information (such as records related to completed bookings) may be retained as described in the Data retention section below.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account subject to applicable law and legitimate business needs (for example, completed booking records).

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong passwords and protect your account credentials.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You can update many account settings directly in the product.

International transfers

We may process information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

Children

Shal is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the product or by email where appropriate.
